Bergenia x smithii ‘Progress’

An exceptionally rare Thomas Smith variety from 1885. It has a compact habit with bright, glossy green leaves that have no winter colour and an abundance of large, purple-pink, bell shaped, non-drooping flowers in late spring. It is said to have the largest flowers of all the named B. x smithii varieties.
