Submit Photographs

Photographs play an important role in visually documenting the unique morphology of Bergenia taxa, particularly where herbarium material is limited, inaccessible, or absent, and where existing descriptions provide only a partial picture of morphological diversity.

We welcome photos of:

  • Plants growing in cultivation (gardens, nurseries or collections)

  • Plants observed in the wild in their native habitat

Support Conservation

The Bergen List is an independent research project focused on the study and conservation of Bergenia. The work has three core strands: the critical study of published literature and herbarium material, the observation of morphological diversity in the living collection in Glasgow, and field-based research in Central and East Asia. This research is carried out independently and does not benefit from the financial or institutional resources of universities or botanic gardens.

Financial contributions are one of the main ways the project can be supported and sustained. Your donations directly enable:

  • Recording of poorly understood, rare and threatened taxa

  • ‍Field based research and travel

  • Conservation focussed horticulture

  • Long-term support of this online resource
