Bergenia ‘Sunningdale’
An old cultivar attributed to G. S. Thomas from 1964. It has particularly large, upright, bright green leaves that turn an attractive copper-red in winter. In spring, striking rose pink flowers open from dark red calyces atop tall, bright red stems. Available from specialist nurseries, such as Beth Chatto Plants and Gardens and MacPlants.
