Bergenia ‘Winterzauber’

An incredibly rare cultivar with some of the best winter foliage interest of any Bergenia. It has good sized, upright, dark green, spoon-shaped leaves, with a distinctive red margin, that turn the most extraordinary kidney red, almost black, in winter, lasting all the way through to early spring. Short red scapes carry magenta pink flowers that fade to white at the base of the petals in mid-late spring.

There are currently no known stockists in the UK or abroad but it can be found in specialist collections. Deserves to be much more widely grown.
