Bergenia stracheyi Kew (2016-1271)
A fine form collected near Mahodand Lake in the Ushu Valley in the Swat district of northern Pakistan. Seed from Gothenburg Botanic Garden was shared with RBG Kew who grow several clones in the rock garden. It produces long, strap-like, dark green, leathery leaves with a loosely ciliate margin and a peculiar toothed apex. Leaves are blushed red in autumn and winter. Flowers are yet to be observed.
