Bergenia ‘Sakura’

A truly compact cultivar with elegant, strap-like, dark green foliage that turns a deep dark purple-red in winter. Its highly attractive semi-double pink flowers are reminiscent of cherry blossom, emerging from dark red calyces atop branching, pink-red stems, held well above the foliage, in spring. Unfortunately not commonly sold in the UK but it can be found from specialist nurseries and occasionally in garden centres.
