Bergenia ‘Ripple Effect’

One of the finest introductions to enter trade in recent years. A hybrid of Bergenia ciliata 'Susan Ryley' and Bergenia pacumbis raised by Ed Bowen of issima and introduced by Walters Gardens. It has exceptional, cabbage-like, glossy, dark green foliage with heavily rippled, hairy margins. Tasteful white flowers age slowly to pink in spring but be in no doubt that this is a foliage plant first and foremost. Upright and compact in habit this makes a spectacular specimen plant that will actually produce larger leaves in a container. Sadly, not yet available in the UK but it has entered the European market so perhaps not too long to wait…
