Bergenia ‘Purpurkönig’
An incredibly rare cultivar bred by Karl Foerster and introduced posthumously in 1972. There is little to no information available online or in literature about it. Aileen Stocks notes in the Hardy Plant Society booklet on Saxifragaceae that it is 'A small plant with little root growth. The flowers are short and pink to red in colour.' Believed lost to cultivation, it has been included in the German Bergenia trial 2026-2029. THE FIRST STATE OWNED NURSERY BERGENIA INTRODUCTION
