Bergenia pacumbis BSWJ2693

An introduction of this superb species by Bleddyn & Sue Wynn-Jones from the frozen valley of Lachung in eastern Sikkim in 1994, where it was found growing on vertical cliffs and banks. It has large, semi-evergreen, glossy green leaves with a bristle-edge of stiff hairs. In spring, large inflorescences of white flowers appear atop red stems, slowly changing to pink with age.
