A unique introduction from the former Hagemann nursery. Good sized, leathery, bright green leaves have strongly contrasting venation and a prominent pink, coarsely ciliate margin. The real feature is the upright clusters of grey-white flowers with a dark pink heart that are held atop short dirty green-pink stems in spring. A standout Bergenia that is sadly not available in the UK but can be seen in specialist collections.
