Bergenia ‘Marshmallow’

A handsome cultivar introduced and sold in New Zealand. It has the characteristics of Bergenia stracheyi but is said to have B. ciliata in its parentage. It forms attractive clumps of thick, leathery dark green leaves with soft, hairy margins. Foliage is blushed red in the autumn and winter. Dense heads of snow white flowers with a pink heart appear in spring atop short, stout red stems. Not yet available in the UK or European market.

  • Garden cultivar. Not considered to be of conservation concern.
