Bergenia ‘Ingwerson’s Minima’

A very rare cultivar likely associated with the great British nurseryman and alpine plant and rock garden expert Will Ingwerson. The name is found in historical plant lists from the 1960s but only one plant growing under this name has been found growing in the UK at National Trust for Scotland Greenbank Garden. It is a dwarf variety that is well suited to rock gardens. The cultivar name may be linked to Bergenia 'Minima' which is considered to be a synonym of the historic B. cordifolia minor. The latter is said to be 'a poor cultivar that is not garden worthy, a shy bloomer with small, lilac-pink flowers and no winter colour.' If you grow a plant under any of the aforementioned names or have any more information about these, please get in touch.

  • Garden cultivar. Considered to be rare and of critical conservation concern.
