Bergenia ‘Illusion’

A very rare Heinz Klose selection from 1983. There is very little information online or in literature and sadly no photographs to reference. Aileen Stocks notes in the Hardy Plant Society booklet on Saxifragaceae that 'Although it has no winter leaf colour, the flower stems are red. It often produces semi-double blooms with long pink petals and deep rose sepals.' This is an exciting description as semi-double flowers tend to be rare in Bergenia.
