A superb garden cultivar producing attractive mounds of medium sized, upright, leathery, spoon-shaped, dark green leaves which turn a deep maroon-purple in winter, particularly on the margins. In spring, short branching stems bear loose clusters of magenta-pink flowers held in dirty green calyces. Fairly common in cultivation.
