Bergenia ‘Clare Maxine’
A robust cultivar notable for its gleaming, puckered, red-flushed, mid-green foliage that darkens and reddens with age. Excellent for winter colour with a spectacular shine that makes it stand out in the garden. Flowers are a deep purple-pink held in dark red calyces. Flowering in spring and occasionally in autumn. Named by Christopher Hallsworth after his elder daughter but often misspelt and sold as 'Claire Maxine'.
