Bergenia ciliata Kew (1995-3678)

An unusual form of Bergenia ciliata collected in the Palas Valley between Kubkot and Barser in northern Pakistan by Sinnott, Burnell and Jackson during the 1995 expedition to Pakistan. The dark green leathery leaves are glabrous on the upper lamina and sparsely hairy on the lower lamina with a red toothed ciliate margin of short coarse hairs. It has some similarities to B. pacumbis and may be a wild hybrid of the two species. Flowers are yet to be observed.
