Bergenia ‘Britten’
An Eric Smith selection from 1977 later introduced by Jim Archibald and named after Eric’s favourite composer, Benjamin Britten. It has highly attractive, dark green, glossy foliage that turns an exceptional shade of red in winter. In spring, it produces spidery white flowers with a pink blush that slowly age to pink. Quite spectacular when in flower. It has been noted for its tolerance to drought.
