Bergenia ‘Biedermeier’

A German cultivar introduced by Rosemarie Eskuche with distinctly large pale pink flowers in mid to late spring, occasionally affected by late frosts. It has glossy, dark green, strap-like evergreen leaves with some winter interest. The cultivar name refers to the Biedermeier Era in Central Europe between 1815 and 1848. It was first listed in the RHS Plant Finder in 2006. Available for sale from Beth Chatto Plants and Gardens.
