Bergenia angulata
Found growing in the order beds at Oxford Botanic Garden, the species name is likely to have been misapplied. Sadly, there is no information on when the plant was accessioned into the collection, pre-dating 1940 when many plant records were lost. It has large, upright, rounded, dark green leaves with a wavy-edged margin, reminiscent of B. cordifolia. Flowers are yet to be observed.
Further investigation of the provenance and application of the name is required. Any information regarding this plant would be welcome.
