Bergenia ‘Abendglut’
A handsome cultivar from Georg Arends c.1950. It forms a rosette of shiny, dark green, red tinted leaves that turn a rich maroon colour in winter. Very neat and tidy with a clump forming habit. In late spring, semi-double magenta pink flowers open atop striking red stems. Raised from a mixed series of hybrids introduced by Arends in 1895 as Bergenia hybrida.
