Bergenia ‘Herbstblute’
The name says it all really, Herbstblüte translating to autumn blossom. After flowering in spring a second flush of flowers appears in mid-late summer, occasionally later depending on weather conditions. It has dark green, evergreen foliage with an upright habitat that holds well against the frost. The pale pink-purple flowers are held in dark red calyces atop a pink-red branching stem. Introduced by the Härlen Perennial Nursery in north Germany in 1983.
