Bergenia ‘Glockenturm’

One of the finest Bergenia cultivars introduced by Rosemarie Eskuche in Germany. Its bright green, spoon shaped leaves have a very distinct toothed margin, blushed pink, and a nice upright habit. It is incredibly floriferous producing attractive pink, bell-shaped flowers held in liver red calyces on red-pink branching stems up to 50cm tall in spring. It is very rarely found for sale in the UK, although it can pop up at specialist nurseries and plant fairs. Likewise, it is rarely seen on the continent, sold only from a few specialist nurseries.

  • Garden cultivar. Considered to be rare and at risk of being lost to cultivation.
