Bergenia cordifolia ‘Rote Schwester’

A Rosemarie Eskuche introduction with pretty, upright, leathery, spoon-shaped, bright green leaves which turn maroon-red in winter. In spring, vivid red-pink flowers open from dark red calyces atop tall, branching, green-pink stems. Rather rare in trade nowadays but it can be found in specialist nurseries in the UK and Germany.
